The Meeting for Advanced Synthetic Biology and Systems Bioengineering in Vancouver (MASSIV) 1.0 will bring together leading researchers, innovators, and trainees from around the world to discuss the future of synthetic biology and biomedical engineering.
Recent advances in genome, cell, tissue, and organ engineering have enabled us to push the boundaries of biology and medicine at an unprecedented scale. Hosted in Vancouver, MASSIV 1.0 will highlight cutting-edge technologies and applications at the interface of biology, engineering, regenerative medicine, and data science. We will place special emphasis on how long-standing synthetic biology and bioengineering principles, originally developed using microorganisms alongside computational and AI approaches, can now be applied to stem cell biology and tissue engineering to advance human health more than ever before.
The Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) and Stem Cell Network (SCN) are pleased to be partnering to deliver this event, hosted by the School of Biomedical Engineering at UBC.

We are pleased to announce that the RIKEN BDR Symposium 2026 "Biological Horizons: Innovative Explorations into Life’s Mechanisms and Dynamics," will be held on March 2 to 3, 2026 at RIKEN Center for Biosystems Dynamics Research, Kobe, Japan.

We encourage the submission of abstracts for the poster session to facilitate a lively and informative exchange of ideas. A small number of poster abstracts will be selected for oral presentations. Travel grants and Poster awards are available to encourage young researchers from around the world.

We look forward to welcoming you to our Center in March 2026.

The symposium is jointly hosted by Grant-in-Aid for Transformative Research Areas (A) "Establishment of pH-responsive Biology" "Integration of Extracellular Information by Multimodal ECM Activity" "Mechanical Self-transformation of Living Systems".
