「Data Driven Multi-omics Integration in Life Sciences」
With the advent of high-throughput technologies, vast amounts of data are being generated in various omics disciplines such as genomics, genetics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics, and epigenomics. Integrating these multi-dimensional omics datasets offers unprecedented opportunities to gain comprehensive insights into complex biological systems and their underlying mechanisms. This symposium on "Data Driven Multi-omics Integration in Life Sciences" brings together experts to explore the integration of multi-dimensional omics datasets. Speakers will specifically highlight the integrative aspect of their work and how it helped in understanding biology and medical sciences.

Diverse perspectives are the cornerstone of scientific development, and the promotion of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) is essential for the next generation of science. What is needed to create a research environment suitable for the coming era, and what are the barriers and challenges that hinder this? In this symposium, researchers in the fields of developmental biology, stem cell biology, and basic medicine will gather from Japan and abroad, with an inverse gender ratio, to discuss these issues and their research. As a model for contributing to the local and international community through science, we will share diverse perspectives and provide inspiration for achieving gender equality and promoting diversity in the scientific community from Kumamoto University. Anyone is welcome to participate.

Date: September 28 (Thu)- September 29 (Fri), 2023

Format: Hybrid

On-site: International Research Center for Medical Sciences (IRCMS), Kumamoto University, JAPAN.

On-line: Webinar

※The symposium will be conducted in English.

※Online Japanese-English simultaneous interpretation will be available only for the "Power Hour" on the morning of the 29th.

We are pleased to announce the the Cold Spring Harbor Asia conference on Yeast and Life Sciences will be held in Matsue, Japan. Matsue is the capital city of Shimane Prefecture, in Southwest Japan. Known as the “City of Water”, Matsue stands by the Sea of Japan where Lake Shinji and Nakaumi meet, in the middle of Shimane Peninsula.

The conference will begin at 7:00pm on the evening of Monday October 9, and will conclude on Friday October 13, 2023. The conference will include eight oral sessions and one poster session covering the latest findings across many topics in yeast. Short talks will be selected from the openly submitted abstracts on the basis of scientific merit and relevance. Social events throughout the conference provide ample opportunity for informal interactions.

We encourage abstracts to contain new and unpublished materials. The abstracts must be submitted electronically by the abstract deadline. Selection of material for oral and poster presentation will be made by the organizers. Status (fellow's talk/poster) of abstracts will be posted on CSHA web site as soon as decisions have been made by the organizers.

Fellowship:
We are eager to have as many young people as possible to attend our international meetings since they are likely to benefit most from meeting other international colleagues in the same field. A certain number of presentations by graduate students and postdocs in this conference will be selected as fellowship (USD $100 - $500) awards after the meeting to off set the registration fee. Announcements of the awardees will be made during the Banquet of the meeting.

We look forward to seeing you at Matsue in October 2023.
