エピジェネティック・ランドスケープは、C. H. Waddingtonにより1950年代に提唱された、発生における分化に対する比喩である。我々も富士山におけるエピジェネティック・ランドスケープの図を伝統的なタッチで描いてみた。山頂に向って登る参詣者は、未分化状態に戻って多能性を獲得する細胞を連想させる。また、裾野を横へ行く参詣者は、未分化状態に戻らないダイレクト・リプログラミングのさなかの細胞を表現している。
