Kinoshita et al. proposed, in Vol. 30, Issue 6 of this journal, a model in which individual condensin complexes form DNA loops while stabilizing the chromosome axis structures by interactions between condensins, thereby facilitating mitotic chromosome assembly (Kinoshita et al. (2025) Genes to Cells 30(6): e70065, DOI: 10.1111/gtc.70065). As this illustration depicts, celestial maidens skillfully handle a hagoromo (a long celestial scarf) resembling a long DNA strand, forming loops with graceful movements while holding hands with one another.
